The Hungarian State Theater "Csiky Gergely" from Timișoara was Selected in the 2024 National Theater Festival, with "Pericles"
The team of the Hungarian State Theater "Csiky Gergely" in Timișoara is happy that its performance "Pericles", with its premiere on March 8, 2024, directed by the British Director Philip Parr, was selected to participate in the 34th edition of the National Festival of Theatre, which will take place between October 18 and 27, 2024, in Bucharest.
The National Theater Festival is the most prestigious theatrical event in Romania, bringing together exceptional theatrical productions from Romania and abroad. This year, the curatorial team consisting of Mihaela Michailov, Călin Ciobotari and Ionuț Sociu chose the shows based on rigorous curatorial criteria, under the theme "Dramaturgies of the Possible".
The show "Pericles" brings to the audience a captivating and emotional story about finding and rebuilding oneself in unknown lands. Drama by Dálnoky Réka, scenography and costumes created by Brian D. Hanlon, choreography by Anca Stoica and music composed by Cári Tibor contributes to a complex theatrical experience that reaffirms the contemporary potential of Shakespeare's texts when they get in good hands.
This participation once again underlines the value and quality of the performances produced by the Hungarian State Theater "Csiky Gergely" from Timișoara, which has been collaborating in recent years with world-renowned creators.
