Get a Theatre Infusion: Seven Options for the Timisoara Hungarian Theatre Subscription – Together is Better!
Timișoara’s Hungarian Theatre launched seven different KultCARD packages for its most faithful spectators, providing cheaper tickets. The repertoire in the new theatre season will include five new productions for adults and three for children, all translated in Romanian and English.
Romanian theatre director Alexandru Dabija will be back in Timișoara in order to stage a comedy, “Captain Dirty Fred” based on the adventure novel written by Rejtő Jenő. The world-famous musical “Chicago” will be directed by Béres László from Hungary, with text and music by John Kander, Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse. Gyulay Eszter, who collaborated with our theatre for “Henry IV”, stage direction Victor Ioan Frunză, will stage an adaptation of William Wharton’s Pulitzer nominated book “Birdy”. Two of our company’s actors, Lőrincz Rita and Jancsó Előd, will present their individual authorial projects, part of the Theatre’s program for promoting its multitalented employees. For our junior spectators, the first opening will be on September 22nd – “Swan Fairy”, followed by an Advent-themed performance in November and “Little Red Riding Hood”, directed by Bartal Kiss Rita in the second part of the season.
Following a consultation with our audience in the last season, we are launching several options for subscriptions. The KultCARD-MECENA package costs 470 lei and it can be used by the entire family (parents and children) for any of the Theatre’s own productions. This is also suitable for private companies which wish to support our theatre in a symbolic way. The second option, KultCARD-KORTINA, costs 150 lei, granting access to all of our premieres in the 2024/2025 season. Students and pensioners have a discount with our KultCARD-DEBUT and KultCARD-SENIOR passes, costing 70 lei, which also grant access to all of our openings in this season.
The KultCARD-PODIUM pass costs 100 lei and it includes four performances of your choice (old and new productions) with the exception of the premiere night; KultCARD-LEZSER costs 70 lei and it will allow access to three performances of your choice (old and new productions), except the premiere night. In order to bring new spectators, the Theatre introduces special passes for children - KultCARD- PALÁNTA costs 40 lei and it includes 3 tickets for children’s performances (for spectators younger than 14).
Passes do not allow free entry tot he Euroregional Theatre Festival TESZT. Passes can be bougtht at the ticket office before October 31st. In the previous season, 94 people opted for purchasing a KultCARD.
The 2024/2025 theatre season begins officially with a sports competition for employees in the cultural sector from Romania, Hungary and Serbia – the 7th edition of TheatreGames (co-organised by our theatre and Proteszt Association) will take place between August 30th-September 1st with the participation of 160 amateur sports enthusiasts.
Our September repertoire includes productions created by important international directors: Philip Parr („Pericles”, Sept 9th), Szabó Kristóf („Danaos”, Sept 17th), Tomi Janežič („1978”, Sept 21st) and Andrei Șerban („The Doctor”, Sept 27th) – all of which have English surtitles.
