Before the curtain rises for the new season, the ProTeszt Association and the "Csiky Gergely" Hungarian State Theater from Timișoara organize the amateur sports event called theatreGAMES (known until recently as the "Actor's World Championships" or simply the "Actors' Olympics").
What is theatreGAMES?
It is the only event of its kind in the region, which brings together, in sports competitions and artistic events open to the general public, artists, stage people from numerous theaters, coming from different countries, but who all share the values of Olympism and the aspiration to performance.
theatreGAMES is an amateur sports program specially designed for actors, audiences and children, in which grandparents and grandchildren alike can participate, where we do not have the obligation to reach Olympic quotas, where there are no claims to qualify for a European or world championship, but we have a lot fun, movement and laughter...
Who can participate in the theatreGAMES program?
Local and international theater companies, members of the artistic and technical staff, simple theater lovers, season ticket holders or enthusiastic spectators alike can participate – regardless of age, as spectators or enthusiastic supporters.
Why attend theatreGAMES?
Because - whether as an active participant or a passionate supporter - there's a good chance you won't be on the podium at an acting competition, you won't be the best singer, and you might not recite a poem with the necessary aplomb to come out ahead, but here you have every chance to run faster than your favorite actor, dribble better on the football field, win in basketball, volleyball or badminton. Even if you fail these tests, you still have a chance to win first place in chess or in the gastronomy competition, while cooking the best pot roast.
What sports and events can you compete in at theatreGAMES?
One can choose from a wide range of sports and events to compete at theatreGAMES: cycling, tennis and table tennis, badminton, soccer, streetball, beach volleyball, athletics (100, 800, 3000 and 4x100 meters, long jump, shot put), pentathlon, dragon boat, relay, chess and gastronomy competition.
How, where and until can you sign up for theatreGAMES?
You can register at theatreGAMES by filling out the registration form and paying the participation fee.

The deadline for registration is August 18, 2024. The participation fee until August 18 is 50 lei, after August 18, 60 lei or the equivalent in forints or euros.
Entry to the event for the public from Timișoara is free of charge.
What will the theaterGAMES organizers provide?
We provide accommodation and meals for out-of-town participants, everything necessary for the sports disciplines, but the participants will have to bring their own bicycle, tennis and table tennis rackets, respectively - in case of participation - the necessary tools for the culinary competition
