The Theatre’s Latest Production, Macbeth, Returns Early September
William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, directed by Stefano Tè, returns early September to the Main Hall of the Csiky Gergely State Hungarian Theatre in Timișoara. The production premiered in May at the Theatre Factory – UTT, opening the 16th edition of the Euroregional Theatre Festival TESZT. Created in collaboration with the Italian company Teatro dei Venti, the production offers a highly physical and visual choral interpretation of the play, exploring power, violence, and the disintegration of a system of values. TESZT audiences have previously encountered the company through its productions Moby Dick and Pentesilea.
The production of Macbeth, as well as its relocation to the Main Hall, is made possible with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute in Bucharest. Their support has been instrumental in making this artistic collaboration possible and in allowing the project to continue in Timișoara. We extend our sincere thanks for their ongoing support of the theatre and for their contribution to strengthening cultural exchange between Romania and Italy.
