World Theatre Day is celebrated online: streaming of 7/7
The contemporary dance piece 7/7 is based on a Shakespearean monologue: "All the world's a stage,/ And all the men and women merely players" ("As You Like It"). Baczó Tünde is the personification of different roles played by a Woman during her lifetime (from birth - child, student, young woman, mother, adult, old age) and she manages to transfigure herself swiftly, wearing different personas: „And one man in his time plays many parts,/ His acts being seven ages." The dramaturgy of this performance belongs to Simona Donici.
This non-verbal one-woman-show was created during the Csiky Gergely Theatre's 2013/2014 season and it tok part in important events such as the York International Shakespeare Festival, Gdansk International Shakespeare Festival, Craiova International Shakespeare Festival. The music was composed and performed live by Cári Tibor, the set was designed by Albert Alpár, while video projections belong to Klára Balázs.
World Theatre Day was celebrated first in 1957 on March 27th. Due to the existing COVID-19 pandemics and our theatre's limited activity imposed by self-isolation, our April programme will consist of recordings of earlier performances. For news and updates, check our website and Facebook pages.
