The Great Onion
There is no space in the Great Onion for liars, bad citizens, unskilled citizens or citizens without valid documents.
Birds
"In Birds by Aristophanes, two men who are exhausted from living in endless wartime, decide to build Cloud-cuckoo-land, the first utopia in art history. 2500 years later, we are still living in an endless war, which only changes its shape and territory, we are tired, defeated and dreaming of a personal utopias. What is next? Is it still possible to create a world where everyone is equal, where there is no war, no fighting? If so, why can't we make it happen?” - Kokan Mladenović, director
The sun's sister and starlight
Under the direction of Attila Balázs, Mónika Tar skillfully evokes one of the most distinctive and culturally significant genres in Hungarian literature with great flair and naturalness.
Robert Icke The Doctor
Robert Icke's play is an adaptation of Arthur Schnitzler's "Professor Bernhardi” (1912): Ruth Wolff, doctor and acknowledged researcher, is cast aside from the medical profession due to a decision she made to protect a dying underaged pacient. This case triggers an avalanche of aggressive reactions and biased comments, mirroring rules of political correctness and the woke culture in today's polarized world, a world divided in tribes, "us versus the others”, where morality is defined by circumstances. Social networks dictate how we live, as well as racial, sexual, political or gender identities. Whatever you dare not talk about at work fearing you might be cancelled, it is safe to discuss in theatre: we allow ourselves to confront this world's prejudice and lies.

Janne Teller Nothing
Despite being banned at first, the novel NOTHING has later become a mandatory read for students. NOTHING tackles the uncomfortable, sensitive and difficult to articulate themes in teenagers' lives. Because we need to talk about certain topics, even when they seem to be nothing important. Janne Teller's book was published in 2000 with great controversy. What kind of writing can cause such a stir? The text inclused fundamental issues for the teen age, such as negotiation of different conceptions of the world, questioning moral principles and experimenting power and helpnessless alike. Yet, in the end, everybody must answer this: what matters in life?
Arthur Kopit, Maury Yeston Nine
Can imagination create a reality which is more suitable than the one around us?
What if we transform bits and pieces of our lives into a movie, what would it look like?
The life of an Italian film director, who has seen better days - Guido Contini's imaginary cinematography is nothing more than a musical parade of song and dance, so that his own personal and professional crisis transforms into a work of art. Without realizing that, after staging, the boundaries separating film, fantasy and reality are slowly disappearing.---- Translated EN via surtitles
Adrian Sitaru The Man Who Could Talk Only What He Read
The characters are sitting around a table, discussing some of the most fundamental questions of human life. Is there such crime that can be morally justified? Can a murderer become a hero if the context of his crime justifies his act? Which one is more valuable, the life of a human being or the life of an animal? Along with these, Sitaru's text reflects on how our language, the words which we learn in early childhood, our daily vocabulary, can change or influence our individual perception of reality, our fantasies and rationality.
"The limits of my language are the limits of my world" - Ludwig Wittgenstein
Andrzej Saramonowicz Testosteron (2020)

ROBAL: The male hormone. It makes us chase women since puberty till death. Because of it, we are constantly potential rapists and killers...
An audience favourite at the Hungarian State Theatre in Timisoara, „Testosterone" (2015), is now back with a new formula in the theatre's Main Hall.

- Maybe even themselves?

- Success?
- The answers to all their questions?
- Maybe even themselves?
- If the man searches for wordlz treasures, what does the actor search for?

- How much time/ experience does it take to do nothing, but have a great stage presence? What about being present in your life?
- Twenty five years?
- Thirty?

Sergi Belbel After the Rain
Workaholism, divorce, intimate relations or missing a child, scheming at the office and searching for happiness under the pressure of a job - these are usually the subjects of Sergi Belbel's plays, which are constructed like a sequence of film frames. We hope that the dear spectator can step back from overtime work hours and laugh and cry at the characters which are similar to our co-workers.
The performance has English surtitles.
